I built them once, used them in my house for a little while. Decided I didn't like the cabinets that I build for them so I diassembled everything and ordered new parts to build new cabinets for them.
Unfortunately I moved in an appartment and they are really too powerful to use them now. That's why I am selling them. I could also sell them in the old cabinets if someone from the Montreal area wants them. |

FYI The Dayton SD270-88's are 10", and the Magnum Cum Laude uses Dayton SD315-88, which are 12". Did you type in the wrong woofer? I'm trying to find an excuse to build a massive, full-range speaker, but just can't find one. Otherwise I'd snap them up!

I've used the Tang Band W6-789E as a midbass (essentially a drop-in for the shielded version) and was very pleased with what I was able to achieve. I took my build to the latest DIY event here in Indiana and got lots of very positive comments. The W6-789E has merit in midbass applications, not just the midrange. I'd recommend that you build the top section of the MCLs and put it in a sealed monitor-style cabinet or a floorstander (the W6-789E does need quite a bit of enclosure volume for its bass to fully develop), and then let the woofers go for sale separately. You'd probably have better luck selling just the woofers by themselves (perhaps on the PE 'Free Classified' forum) than trying to unload the entire MCL kit in one go.
Best Regards, Rory B.
