I'm guessing I only need 10-20 feet.
I have a small SMD project (grubdac) and I don't want to purchase an entire lb. Or a new tip if I can avoid it. The Hakko tip is replaced by T18-D08, either is fine. I would be open to a trade – I have a spool, approx 1 lb, of Wonder Solder UltraClear by TRT that I purchased several years ago. I also have unused Hakko tips; 900M-T-0.2RB/P (30 degree bend) and 900MT-0.5C/P (45 degree bevel). |

Would a 900M-T-I work for you? I have a bunch of them; they are what I use now for SMD.
If you have a ratshack near by, their 0.020" silver bearing electronics solder is great for surface mount work. It's all I use since I prefer to by locally when possible.

I use the ratshack 63/47 hightech solder really easy to use and reasonably cheap in small quantities.

theAnonymous1 and eyoung:
thanks for the ratshack tip. I picked up some 0.020" silver (not lead-free); they didn't have any 63/37 in my size. theAnonymous1 I'll try the tip - let me know a $$, send me an email. Is that the custom on this board? I take it you're a little paranoid about giving out personal info, huh? |
