Aikido (completed, tested) stereo PCBs for sale

These are a stereo pair for the famous Aikido tube preamp with the earlier group buy boards built and tested with ICW SA Clarity caps, all 2W metal film resistors. Top condition with tubes. I have also the high quality transformer, capacitors, filament regulators, etc, for a cheap price going with them, if you want.

As for price, any reasonable offer will be accepted. I played with tube equipment a few years ago but have since departed from any tube stuff and moved onto solid state no looking back. I have these things in my part bins and would like to get rid of them now. I can't even recall which tubes are for the Aikido.

I have also a completed 12B4 tube preamp, a very nice sounding preamp, if you are interested.

Please send me a private email if you are interested.

Regards,
Bill

Here is a photo of the completed, tested aikido PCBs.

Going with them are 2 x 5687, 2 x 6N1P and the alternative 2 X 6FQ7, so that you can find out which input tubes sound better. The yellow capacitors are ICW SA Clarity caps. All resistors are 2W metal film.

If you have the right power supply and filament supplies, they are plug and play.

I guess for the 12B4 preamp, I might keep it for the time being and will perfect it and sell it in the near future. I had it modded by a famous company adding a shunt regulator to it but I don't like the sound now :headbash:. I will need to spend some time to either put in a new shunt regulator (Gary Pimm's?), or replace it with pure passive supply. Before the mod, I thought it sounded as good or better than any other preamps I had heard.

What level of gain do these have?

Gain is 10 for the 6FQ7, more for 6N1P.
