There is a thread in the Solid State forum about repairing this amp, but it is beyond my technical abilities to do so. The amp powers up but goes into protection when a load is connected. I have had the cover off and I see no obvious damage. I did not mess with anything. Outside, the amp is in very good condition for its age, with a few minor dings to the edges of the faceplate. All printing and finish is in very good shape.
I also have a Holman preamp. That works intermittently, and I have not been able to fix it. I replaced the power supply caps with Panny FM's, but that didn't solve the problem. It is also in very god condition, with just a few minor dings on the top edge of the faceplate. All lettering and rear panel are excellent. Please make an offer for either one or both. I am not willing to give them away, but their only value to me is what someone is willing to pay for them. I might also accept a trade of something interesting. I do not have either box, but I know how to pack things for safe shipment, from 53714. Regards, Tom E |

Apt made only one power amp. It was made in the late 70's. I believe it is rated at 100W/ch into 8 ohms. I'm not sure what else you want to know, but you can probably search the web to learn all about it, including its reputation for decent sound. It weighs about 20 pounds. It has a switch on the rear panel for bridging to mono, and a switch for selecting high or low impedance loads.
Do you have a more specific question? Peace, Tom E |
