@rkwei: thanks - and replied!

Jfet price explosion:

Jfet prices keep climbing steeply. I carried the last 2 price increases, but now I finally have to raise the kit prices. For now I can offer one F5 transistor kit for 26.80 Euros.

Is there a link for where to purchase the F5 kits?

So here it is...

All transistors for one F5 channel:

1x IRFP240
1x IRFP9240
1x ZTX450
1x ZTX550
1x 2SK170BL (high power version of 2SK370)
1x 2SJ74BL (high power version of 2SJ108)
+enough Kerafol Keratherm heatpad for the 2 mosfets, the a little hard to get but truly excellent stuff recommended by EUVL (not precut, but rather easy to do yourself)
If two channels are ordered, the big mosfets come matched (matched between channels).

This kit I can offer for 15 Euros.

That should help a bit, the remaining hardware should be easy to obtain almost everywhere

Happy building
Hi h_a

I need all transistors for two F5 channel`s.

How do I pay you?

Jostein and Thomas - you got pm!

By the way, as the K170BL and J74BL are now also available from Linear Systems, the kits come with jfets from either Toshiba or Linear Systems.

Are there any differences in how the devices are biased? I've been reading the threads and people seem to have to do different resistor combinations to get things working properly. If would be useful if you knew the right settings and could post a table or something. 8)

Hi Thomas!

Nelson uses the same resistors for all jfets (BL-grade); I think Patrick (EUVL) suggested a trimming scheme that relies on resistor tuning to facilitate even harmonic distortion cancellation.

If that is what you refer to, than you're certainly safe with the original values. Tuning distortion cancellation is certainly nice, but not required.

By the way - I'll be without Internet until December 9, so please don't worry if you don't get a fast response in this time!
