Budget DIY kits

I'm new to DIY and I'm looking for a cheap, easy to build amplifier kit. Any suggestions?

You could try Audiosector or Chipamp.com

I built one from audiosector. It was simple to build and Peter Daniel was a lot of help.

I also built this one Velleman 30W Stereo Audio Amplifier Kit | Parts-Express.com
It was quite simple as well.

Both sound pretty good. All you need in addition to the kit is a transformer and a volume control.

How budget is budget? Www.Tubedepot.com and www.tubesandmore.com both sell a very good beginner tube amp kit for about $200. One carries the K-502 and the other the K12- M. They are nearly identical, same topology but slightly different tubes. There are lots of chassis ideas at the sister site DIY AUDIO PROJECTS - Do-It-Yourself Hi-Fi for Audiophiles as well as reviews and mods for these kits. They only make about 5 watts (rated at 8) but sound very good for an entry level tube amp. I have built 3, one from the kit and two from scratch using the schematics. I love this little amp.

Parts-Express.com sells Speakers, Replacement Speakers, Speaker Building Parts plus HDMI Cables, Home Audio and Video, Pro Audio and Commercial Sound. We offer services for Speaker Reconing, Speaker Refoaming, Speaker Repair. Great selection of Elect sells a few new class D Amp modules now very cheap. They also carry all of the switching power supplies too.

audiosector and chipamp get my vote for Gainclones, too.

41hz.com for Tripath amps.
