Default FS for flood relief: trio of Vifa D27TG-45-6 tweets (NOS, ca. 1998)

I bought these tweeters as spares for my very first home speaker project, a 2-way with the M18WO-09-08 and these tweeters. I assumed I would blow up a tweeter or two, so I wanted spares. But in all those years, I have yet to blow up a driver that wasn't a Jordan Module or JX53!

These d-s-t era D27TG-45-6's have been stored since roughly February, 1998, when I purchased them from Audio Lab of Georgia. The mild roundover on the '45 model makes them a little smoother off-axis than the smooth-faceplate D27TG-35-6, perhaps due to lower diffraction.

These tweets are nominally 6Ω and have a low Fs with decent (90-91dB/w/m) sensitivity. I did not measure the spares, but from my original project my modified ones (see infra) all had Fs below 750Hz. (Spec is 650Hz).

Spec Sheet

I vaguely recall from Basslist discussions that at some point around 2000 or 2001 Vifa changed the dome material, for the worse. But I can't find the discussion and don't remember the specifics. These tweeters were made in Denmark, not "Designed in Denmark" (made in China) like the current production.

One has some scratching on the faceplate. I don't know if it came that way or if it occurred in storage.

These tweeters are NOS: they DO NOT have the "Larry Van Wormer" mod (stuffing in the polepiece to reduce a 2kHz cavity resonance, which I recommend doing).

Price: $50 plus actual shipping from 30066. (They MIGHT fit into a small USPS Priority Flat Rate box. I don't have one on hand. But shipping will definitely not exceed the cost of a medium USPS Priority Flat Rate box.)

Will not split. If you only want two, consider them $25 each with one for free. If you just want one, consider it $50 with two free spares.

Proceeds will go to the victims of the catastrophic flooding in Pakistan.
