Default WTB: TA2020 Amp or Similar

Hi everyone,

I know I'm new here, and please forgive me for that. The world of DIYaudio is just beginning to open up for me.

On that note, does anyone have a t-amp they might be willing to part with? It seems that the best low-cost ones are the Helder Mk. IIIs, but I'm not sure I want to wait 4-6 weeks for that to make it to the states.

Let me know!

Default there is a Gainclone

There is a Gainclone listed on the Swap meet right now. I bet you can get it fairly reasonable from what I have seen posted on the thread right now. If ou haven't heard a Gainclone you won't be dissapointed. They really sound amazing for what they are. You could build your own too, check out DIY Chip Amplifier Kits, PCB's, Components and Information. Partsexpress and Antek both sell reasonable power transformers that work perfect for the chipamp.
Jeff
P.S. be forewarned, if you are just now getting into DIY electronics know it can be real addictive.

I suppose I really should have budgeted better and not have purchased rather expensive speakers (75% off at least!) and left little money for an amp.

Any idea on a comparison between a t-amp and a Gainclone?

T-amp will not work well if your speakers are not efficient (at least 88db). Gainclone has a bit of muscle, will drive anything.

Shipping from Hong Kong takes about 10 calender days. The $13.99 helder amp is a good cheap way to see what tamps can do.

You should buy my gainclone. It lifts veils off of speakers like no other amp. Gainclone

I am pretty new here at diyAudio, I used to hang out over at Audiokarma. I saw this discussion and I have an Audiosource AMP7 that I bought when they were available on ebay. I have gotten out of the audio hobby and this amp is one of the last things I have left. It has seen very little use and is in perfect condition with original box, paperwork and packing. I would like to get around $175 plus shipping.
