Check out Twins Audio, they might have the right transformer for your needs, and the prices are quite reasonable. (I bought some 5K OPTS from them recently, but have yet to build an amp around them. The pair of them was $45 IIRC, even with shipping it was not much..)

I would also check out the Edcor line up. Their midline series sell for about $25 a piece and they are really great sounding OPTs. They are rated for 40-18khz but I have seen them do much better than that. I believe Bruce Heran has used them in a few of his designs at Oddwatt audio with a range of 30-20khz from the same transformer (I could be a little off on this but I do recall he got better than the stated specs on his tests). I have a pair of the midline OPTs at 5K-10w-8ohm SE I am about to use in the Bugle 45 SE amp, I think I paid $65 shipped. They do have a fairly long build time of around 5-6 weeks from placing the order. They are here: www.edcorusa.com
I believe the one you would be interested in is here: http://www.edcorusa.com/Products/Sho...ct.aspx?ID=428

Just got off the phone with edcor, REALLY nice people!!

They had no issues with double and triple varnishing my order, they were happy to customize the OPT's in any way I so chose, and guess what? There sending me a "sample" of there steel plates, and a sample of the wire they use, how cool is that?

What I like about Edcor is that most of their business is to big companies who place large orders at a time, yet they treat the little guy like us as if we were their only customer.

I love them so much that I almost want to keep them a secret, every time it seems I tell another person about them their build time goes up. In the 3 years I have been using them I have seen their turn around time go from about 3-4 weeks to 5-6 weeks.

Another nice thing about Edcor is when you actually pay the very reasonable design fee for a custom order ($40) it is no longer a custom order. If it is a common item like a power transformer they will add it to their list. If not they keep it on file so just in case someone else needs it they won't have to pay the fee.

If you are getting in to ordering custom items from them you should know they have a list of custom items that have already been designed. You can ask them to refer to this list to see if they have already built it or if they have something similar that would work.

They don't advertise any chokes but they do make them and they probably have a list of 20 or so they have built already that they will make for you if you need it.

I recently had them build some small 2.5VCT filament transformers with endbells....they didn't charge me the design fees for these because they were thinking of making them a regular offering.

Yes, how cool are they? Very cool IMHO! Every time I have ordered even them smallest order they have treated me like I was their only customer....these guys are in it to win. More American companies should emulate these guys.
