Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, MFSL Original Master Recording (Straight Letter)
$150.00 firm + $10 S/H for US residents. Higher for non-US. Not only is this a Mobile Fidelity (MFSL) Original Master Recording, the "Original Master Recording" is straight letter (one of the very first pressings), not italics (i.e., "Original Master Recording" later pressings). Mint cond. for vinyl and jacket. The LP has Discwasher VRP poly-liner protective sleeve; the outer jacket has a thick poly sleeve. Better than original??! What?!!! Yup ... Vinyl treated with both LAST and GruvGlide since new and always played with LAST's Stylast stylus coolant for maximum (better-than-original) fidelity and maximum vinyl protection. Total played less than dozen times on either: VPI HW-19+Rega RB-300/Sumiko Blue PT. Special system or Dual CS5000/Shure V-15 Type 5 MR system. All aligned with GeoTracker and Shure Stylus Force Gauge. Before each playback: Hunt's Carbon Fibre brush used and Zerostat de-static'd. I made a 24/192 and DSD copies a few years ago and retired this LP to permanent storage. I keep this and all LPs in a firm, dedicated, self-designed, purpose-built shelf with optimal-horizontal-pressure for LD and LPs (to prevent warpage). Temp+humid conds tightly-controlled in a dehumidified basement storage. The MFSL Lp sounds better than the 2003 30th Japanese import SACD release by a wide margin. Only the UHQR sounds better than the straight letter MFSL. Yeah ... I used to be into LPs...now I live off fidelity-compromised computer playlist servers. Way more convenient, but sonics are worse, of course. If you still like the fuss of LPs, and like Pink Floyd's DSotM, this is the copy to have. Contact (PM) me off-list if you're interested. (I have more audiophile LP titles, too.) |

I would love to talk with the doorman who says at the end :"There's no dark side of the moon...there's no dark side of everything" .Illuminating!
