EL34 push pull amplifier by Sophia Electric. This is an older version and is not single ended in spite of the S.E.T.
Excellent sounding integrated amplifier with 25-28W power, 4 x El34 matched in PP with a 6U8 driver, I have included 6f2 and 6u8a for an extra set, only one set EL34s. Regulated control grid voltage, <90dB noise floor and <1mv hum per their manual. Manual included as is the schematic I painstakingly drew out. Cosmetically a little rough. Looks ok with a few scratches, but one its on the gold "S.E.T. plate on top. The biggest cosmetic issue is that the wood trim it should have is not there and that has left a blemish that is simply painted over. It is noticeable from closer than 10ft...It would be simple to cover with any number of things or make a nice piece of wood trim. The volume knob may need to be tightened and the input selector has three positions although the amp has only two inputs. Sound is completely unaffected. Sounds great! Lots of good comments on this amp on the web. Very good upgrade potential, or excellent first tube amp. will drive nearly any speakers, more than enough power. Bias is currently set at 40mA per the manual, tubes are matched, but have been used a fair bit. Sorry I didn't get a close-up of the cosmetic issues, hopefully you can see them well enough. Asking $500 plus shipping, includes paypal fee. |
