An excellent set (1 pair) of two Norman Labs Model 8 speakers for sale. With the new sofa, Ethan Allen entertainment center, new Vizio HD TV and TEAC equipment these baby's are not aesthetically correct, what ever that means.
These were purchased at Spinet Music in Nacogdoches, TX in 1978 for a then $160.00 each. These two speakers are for sale, as is no returns, so here are details: 2 pinholes on one speaker cover, one faint water ring on # 801251, and lastly a small chip of Walnut Veneer missing from the bottom, right rear of # 801205. Not bad for 32 years. Thanks to a kind note from a fellow eBayer I neglected to mention that, Yes... they work fine. Just like in 1978 at SFA the titanium dome tweeter and bass speaker still crank. Teamed with a 100 w Yahama receiver we were the recipient of numerous noise complaints. I see these are still in big demand and going at a premium price. A search for Norman Labs blogs on the Web tells the story. The engineer, (founder) from The University of Oklahoma, and former ALTEC engineer sold Norman Labs to a Fort Worth, TX Investment Group. They in turn resold Norman and it went out of business about eight years ago. A real collectors find. Thirty pounds each, H=23", D=9 6/16", W=12". Shipping at buyers expense, your choice of transit. POSTED ON EBAY 06/12/10 paypal OK GOOD LUCK! |
