Default The valve amp builders tool kit

The Valve Amp Builders Tool Kit

Do you experiment with making valve gear? Read on!

Heathkit IP-17 High voltage PSU.
Very good quality PSU, with the following features;

Adjustable positive rail of 10-400v with settable current limiting of 5 to 100 mA, common can be lifted from ground

Adjustable Negative rail of 0-100v @1ma, common can be lifted from ground

6.3v AC @ 4 amps or 12.6v AC @ 2 amps for valve filaments

Current meter for positive rail

Voltmeter switch able between positive or negative rail

More info see;

I have tested this (see pics) and as far as I can ascertain it is all working well. The filament supplies read 6.9v & 13.8v. The 400v output actually reaches 412v, & the -100v goes to about -125v. There is about 2mv of 50Hz ripple on the positive rail output. I haven’t tested the current limiting.
This unit is in very good condition cosmetically, and has been assembled to a very high standard.

And

Heathkit IG-82 audio sine/square generator
Again a very good quality piece of kit.

20Hz (see below) to about 750kHz.
0 to 10v output, although this drops away at the frequency extremes
Separate sine & square outputs.

I have tested this (see pics) and it seems to work well apart from when the X1 frequency multiplier is selected the output is unstable. Maybe the switch needs cleaning? Both the sine and square waves are nice and clean and the frequency scale is really quite accurate.
As above, the unit is cosmetically very good and assembled to very high standard.

More info see;

Both items run on UK mains voltage. As with all second hand electrical equipment you should have it thoroughly checked over by a qualified electrician for safety.
These units both contain valves, so are quite delicate and are quite heavy, (about 15kg) so I really don’t want to post them as I can’t promise they will arrive unscathed. I live in Walthamstow, NE London for pick up or I could meet, within reason, half way. If you really want it posted I will, at cost, but I'm rather apprehensive about it. And lastly, I’m looking for £120 for the pair. Drop me a line for any more details. Oh, and the Multimeter and Oscilloscope are not included!!
You may notice that I have only posted twice on this forum, but I do have a good solid record on The Hifi Wigwam, if you should care to visit.

May I know the price and shipping cost to France ?

Thanks

Some one else in Canada was interested, but it seems that surface mail to Canada does not exist any more, only air freight! Some much for carbon footprints...
The upshot is that the shipping (Aircrafting?) would be about £80.

I now have found the construction manuals for both these items.
