Default Wanted: Heatsink Profile in UK

Hi,
I need heatsink profile in the UK. It can be either surplus or new - it doesn't really matter!

Please help - I have no idea where to get this stuff from!

Thanks,
Gaz

Depends what your application is really, RS & Farnell carry a fair range of low to medium performance heatsinks, but if you need something more heavy duty you'll need to get them straight from the manufacturer.

IMI-Marston is the only UK mfr that comes to mind:
imiheatsinks.co.uk

Aavid have UK offices (used to be called Redpoint):
aavidthermalloy.com

Fischer in Germany have some excellent profiles, I've had some awesome big custom machined heatsinks from these guys years ago:
fischerelektronik.de

also try Austerlitz:
austerlitz-electronic.de

Hope these are of use. If you are planning on a custom order, let me know 'cause I could be interested for a couple for projects I've got planned.

HTH

Id suggest you get any catalog you can get your hands on and compare prices.
If youre looking for big heatsinks its worth checking cause the differnces for the same profiles are quite big.
Just received some heatsinks from Austerlitz which are in general a little cheaper than Fischer-Elektronik.

Nice, but why the h3ll don't heatsing suppliers list 'sinks in order of deg'C? They seem to be shape obsessed!

hello Gaz

if you are going to order some heatsinks at some point maybe we could order together to split the postage cost cos it will probably be quite a lot.

See you later and congrats again on getting engaged.

Cheers Mark.
I'll let you know if I find anything cheap enough. IMI Marston's go for about 50-60 on Farnell. They have a 200 minimum order at the factory though!

If you're talking about the ones on my website - they didn't quite make it to manufacture. I will try again fairly soon (next year or so). Here are pics of my very nearly finished pair:

Thanks for your interest though!

Thumbs up Sole UK Agents for Fischer

Gaz,

the sole UK agents for Fischer are DAU Components Ltd.

Give Alan Jones a ring on 01243 553031.

They have an impressive range of heatsinks and will do almost any surface finish you can think of.

Cheers

Jon
