Could you post any links to the specs on these? Measurements would be great too.

I've tried to find out any info on these drivers via the internet and the information is just not there. I've even posted on this multi-way forum and still not a lot. I wish I could tell you more about them.

Hi,
Appologies in advance if anyone is bothered by having me drag up this old post. However, I only just joined the forum and have experience with these EC 600 drivers since I also own several, and am familiar with what they were indended to do. The horns in the picture are the smaller EH330 horn Algis made to satisfy the needs of folks who wanted something more portable than his original 4' long 4' wide EH-153 horns designed for these EC 600 drivers. The 153s were intended to be crossed over or highpassed at 150Hz. These 330s had a higher horn cutoff and were intended to be crossed over at 250Hz. We have done hundreds of very nice sounding very successful sound-reinforcement jobs with the EC600/EH330s as mids doing 250Hz - 1.2KHz with Double 18 cabinets below them loaded with double McCauley 6256s (bass 18s) and with TAD 4001s on Emilar EH-520s on top. We also used to use one EC600 on an EH153 per side above three McCauley 6354 loaded (subwoofer) Double 18 cabinets to do orchestra concerts for up to 5000 people very successfully before getting away from stack-em-up speaker systems in the early 1990s. We found these do a lot for their size and weight and do sound great. I hope this helps. Brad B.T.W. the early red diaphragm surrounds suffered premature glue failure when loud signals were applied. The white surrounds they replaced them with are holding up well to this day. |

I am interested too, but only in a pair of the drivers without horns.
What are the weight of those?

I am extremely curious what you folks are doing with these drivers, since nobody seems to want to buy the horns that typically come with the drivers folks offer for sale. I can understand not wanting the huge EH153 horns, but not wanting the smaller EH330s makes me wonder what horns you folks actually plan to use EC600 drivers in or on?

I guess people wants to experiment with other types of horns, maybe DIY versions with exotic flares.
Me I was also concerned about the transport costs of huge stuff across the Atlantic.
