Hello everyone!
As you may, or may not know, I am working on a turn table project. In addition, I have a short supply of cash. I plan to make a tone arm myself later; but need something that has the potential to function properly to use as the set-up and reference piece. I would like it to be a 12" tone arm, as that is what I will build later. The motor, I am planning to go DC with a nice power supply, so any motor with enough 'nut' for the belt drive job is desired. Alternately, an A/C motor with controller so I can rotate the platen and check things would be helpful. I have nothing now- I am working on the plinth from scratch, bearing from scratch and platen from scratch. I need SOME reference parts but see no point spending hundreds on parts that will ultimately be replaced. So, anyone who can help (and wants to clean some junk out of their shop) let me know! I have a few items that may be of interest in trade: 24V regulated power supply (minor adjustable) brand new 12V regulated power supply (Motorola radio power supply) big (4x4x10 or so) and seems well made Plasma gun power cable (tinned OFC stranded at ~0 gage) Other neat stuff like OFC copper bar ends (scrap) but not a lot... I'm using some of this in my table build. If you are a shooter as well, I have TONS of re loadable brass as well- some odd calibers too. Just ask! Just ask me for whatever you need- I may have it or be able to get it! Also wood for cabinets: Purple heart, Peruvian walnut, maple, Bubinga, English lace, ebony, etc. sizes and thickness varies, so let me know what you want to do... Thanks in advance! |
