Default (1) Adire Tumult AD15D2 15" monster driver for sale

For sale is one unused Adire Tumult AD15D2 driver. What makes this a monster is an Xmax of 34mm. Yeah, over 2 1/2 inches of throw! Also note that Adire is no longer in business, but I have one! The T/S specs are:

Code:
Re: 3.2 Ω
Le: 4.2 mH
Sd: 749 cm²
Vas: 160 Liters
Fs: 19 Hz
Xmax: 34 mm
Pe: 1600W
Qms: 4.3
Qes: 0.39
Qts: 0.36
Bl: 18.5 T·m
Mms: 345 g
EBP: 48.7 (closed box is best)
More info (with pics) can be found on the old Adire website. Here is a video of the crazy thing. Some random review. A PDF spec sheet.

I would like $525 for it plus shipping costs. The $25 is for the special packing it will need as I don't have the original shipping box. This driver is not light. I'm guessing it weighs 65 pounds by itself.

I'm seriously tempted to keep it but won't.

PM your address for a shipping quote. Payment will be through paypal.

Note: I found discussions on this driver where the Vas is larger than spec'd. I would suggest for the person who buys this from me, to break it in for a few days and measure the T/S specs before deciding on the box dimensions.

You want more than MSRP? There are equivalent cheaper XBL^2 woofers out there now. If you're tempted to keep it, I don't think you'll find too many people arguing the point with you.

Actually, I'm asking the same as retail plus a recovery on the crate I'm going to have to make for it so it'll survive shipment. Tempest-X2 only does 26mm Xmax and limited to 1kW. The CCS SDX15 does 30mm and doesn't say anything regarding a Pmax. Both drivers are less on both specs and all list the same sensitivity.

There's not a 15" on the planet that will honestly handle 1,000W RMS for more than a few seconds. And especially not at subwoofer frequencies.

The Xmax difference gives you a fraction of a DB. And the crate is an additional expense that has nothing to do with the driver.

You don't seem to want to admit that your price is extremely unrealistic. You should know that drivers don't sell for OVER MSRP on a forum like this, they usually get about half, sometimes more, sometimes less.

You don't have a dealer relationship with Adire so if the unit is problematic, there's no backup.

1) Adire is gone. They are out-of-business. Mine is unused and not even broken-in.
2) The 1600W is realistic as Adire stated it under IEC 268-5 conditions

If you drive up here to NorCal for local pickup, $500 even for you.
