This is a highly modded and very special Zhaolu 2.5C. The following mods have been performed:
- gold teflon insulated RCA's for digital input and analogue output - implementation of a built in Felix power conditioner on the AC line - Shottky diodes in the power supply - start grounding to all boards implemented - optomized power supply board to remove unnecessary traces to the noisy ground plane resulting in a quieter and more direct delivery of power to components - increased power supply capacitance - upgraded op amps to OPA2107's (LM4562's are available for $10 additional) - reworked and optomized the entire output board to make best use of the op amps, bypassing the relays and replacing the resistors with high quality metal films (as designed by Kevinkr) - disconnected the headphone amp - chassis and component damping added to reduce vibrations - shielded the digital board from all other sections (copper foil shield over entire board) This is one stellar performer. I've compared it against a Zapfiltered Zhaolu and this one wins hands down. Much more open and detailed and revealing. I've also compared it against higher priced DACs and CD players and it is certainly an overachiever, beating out many much, much more expensive players - but you already know this if you're looking at this DAC. Asking $225 OBO, Paypal and shipping within the lower 48 states included. Add an extra $10 if you want the LM4562 op-amps also. Best to contact me by e-mail if you are interested: ptmconsulting@verizon.net Thanks, Bob ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Oops, almost forgot one of the additional mods (and this one made a really nice and very noticeable improvement)
- pulse transformer on the digital coax input |

If you're wondering how this DAC compares against some high priced and highly regarded competition, please take a look at post #358 on this link:
