(8) spiders total includes up 2 spiders per woofer one with woven leads one without
(8) terminal blocks for baskets

all new parts never assembled or glued just mocked one to see what it looks like
2 cones have a small imperfection in them kinda like a dent but very small i cant feel it but its visible

You're asking a heck of a lot for an unknown. I could get Acoustic Elegance WITH apolllo for those prices, assembled and a known-good.

Frankly, while the quality may be good, I'd not even consider them until they were 1/3 the price, and I have a feeling that most here are the same way.

Why on earth would someone pay the price of a premium 18" with known behavior for a kit 18" with nothing significant known?

Are you showing parts you havent tried yet?

Where do you get those parts?

Would like to know if there might be other options?

cuz its fun that's why, why do any of us do any of this stuff

ive built a ton of woofers and these parts are from one of my normal sources many would know im sure if they have ever done a recone

if the prices are too high i understand that's why they are for sale make an offer im open to suggestions

but 1/3 the price is less than the cost of the parts i absolutely cant do that

unknown characteristics im sure that's an angle but really its simple they are just a collection of spiders coils cones and magnets all on their own are a well proven part from a well proven manufacturer and no reason why they wont work well together

so i dont have a fancy website or pictures of my woofers near some elegant test equipment

if you know any speaker manufacturers all they do is buy parts that work well together for the speakers they make and some extra stuff makes them special like the one referenced

I agree completely w/ everyone. These drivers would be a huge gamble. I think you'd have a much better chance selling these if you were to finish the drivers, get some t/s specs and build a cabinet with some wicked SPL and a decently flat curve. Then try to sell it as a finished subwoofer w/ or w/out amplification. IMO you would have a much better chance of recovering your investment, and could possibly make a name for yourself if it performs well. At the very least I think you will need to design a well thought out enclosure and include the plans when selling the drivers.

well that's not a bad idea im a diy guy thats why im here i like to build woofers as well as enclosures so thats why i decided to leave them un built

figure they might be a good learning experiment and a totally diy sub you could take pics and do a build log of everything from gluing and soldering to wiring it up to an amp its a relitavely easy woofer because its an 18 and really cool looking too

then you could choose 1 spider or 2 or paint the former or im sure any other slew of things to make them unique

i might build them but right now im just way to busy and dont have the time i figure id let them go to someone that might appereciate them

i started with 475 so people could beat me down on price and i think thats what ill do

hows 400 each shipped if all 4 sell?

i guess its just not to well written sorry i should have clarified

these parts are the only ones i have

the motors are nearly impossible to find and i dont know if you could buy the cones new unless you bought like 1000 i just happened to come across 4 from a friend

im sure mostly everyone on here could measure the t/s specs but i have them listed else where and figure i would just cover all the bases

i would be using a wt2 and didn't want anyone to think i would charge to do it so its not a secret

i will assemble them and measure them at the same price just figured before they are glued forever id give selling them a shot

edit
thats odd tinitus what happened to your post ?

Thats about the price of a Maelstrom-X
And new AE TD18H

edit, I removed my previous post because I want to be fair
And I think you may be on to something
Its just not done so easy, but needs a big investment to get parts cost down

But buying repair parts for a complete driver is probably the most expencive way
btw, I have just looked and found these neo motors to be available as autosub part at around 285USD, if I remember correctly
They probably buy them cheap in china
Motor design could be anything
People seem to get quite rich by selling auto parts

I could be interested in building a pair, but a very different kind
But surely I wont buy unknown parts costing more than good quality woofers

2nd everything tinitus said. If these were a known quantity, given the parts I'm seeing, I'd be inclined to pay around $200 for the completed driver. But they're not known, so the things are near useless. Pay the cost of some of the best 18"s on the market for the privilege to build the thing to find out if it's worth even using? I think not. And no warrantee or known factors.

You're SOL friend. Not trying to be hard on you, but $400 is completely ludicrous, regardless of what you paid.
