I have a GFA-555 and may be interested in the adcom caps. If the other guy doesn't come through, would the larger caps fit in my amp, or were they used in a larger model?

Yes they will fit. He has shown interest and tried to negotiate a price but we do not have an agreement.
Thus they are available. I have fit these in the 555ii (not the older 555) using the 555ii's own clamps. Because it is the same Diameter i.e. 2.5". However you might need to bend or cut off 1/2" or so of the bridge heat sinks that sit on top of the caps because the new caps are taller. In the original 555, you will need clamps but otherwise it will work. These were used in the 300wpc Adcom GFA-5802. The GFA-585/ 5800 used 18000uF caps if memory serves... |
