Stromberg Carlson AU-57 lightly modified for guitar work. Insane gain (and distortion) from two input stages wired in serial. This thing rocks!
I've replaced the electrolytic caps where appropriate and have added a quarter inch plug for input and for 8 ohm output. Also replaced some film caps with orange drops. 6L6GC tubes, 5U4GB, 6X4, 12AU7, 12AX7 tubes included: $100 + shipping. |

It sure is! Plug in and go for it. If you have too much gain you can replace the 12AX7's with 12AU7's. I think the best sound is had while pushing the output tubes to clipping. I can rewire the output for 16 ohm if needed.
Built like a tank, and looks like one too. |

newbie, so the system won't let me. Can you email me? Thanks! Would love to hear a little more about the sound and setup, but I'm pretty sure this is what I'm looking for.

Hey I was wondering if you remembered how you wired your inputs in serial or even better if you had a picture of your mods. I just picked one of these up and what you have done sounds pretty cool. Thanks The sloth
