Hi there - new to this forum and hope not to annoy ...
I like old Kenwood amps. Back when they were Kenwood Trio (pre-1972) before they were made in Korea. I need output transistors for my KA-7002. I replaced the output finals on the left channel ~15 years ago with a MJ15402 and a 2N6331. The right channel has a 2SC1402 and a B696 (could be 2SB696 ???) The schematic calls for 2SC680 and 2CA566. The 2SC680 is findable and cheap, but the 2CA566 is not. In fact none of the transistors that were used in replacements 15 to 20 years ago seem to be easy to find. Does anyone have any knowledge of what to replace with as complementary pairs in a Kenwood KA-7002? BTW - I run a salvage electronics company that sells worldwide. Most of my customers are DIY like me and you. See www.tiger-tech.biz if your are at all interested. This is not a sales pitch. I really want to fix my KA-7002 !!! -- paul (tech@in-the-machine.com) |
