I have about a dozen power transformers that are rated as follows:
1500VA 60Hz 120V:120V E type The only problem is that there is NO CENTERTAP... These are heavy monsters, weighing about 50lb. They were used as medical isolation transformers. Let me know if anyone is interested in a buy or trade. Location is Vancouver, BC Canada |

Not sure if these could work as a power conditioner and/or DC blocker to clean up the AC lines a bit...

I'm surprised there is not more interest in these monster transformers.
I've got many uses that come to mind: -Use as is for an isolation transformer to block DC and HF noise -Find the mid-voltage point on the secondaries and create a center tap for use in a high power amp -Remove the secondary winding and rewrap for a custom amp (Perhaps 5 individual secondaries for a high current custom HT amp) -Paperweight |
