Default FS - Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 Monitors

These have been in my nearfield soldering rig for about the last year or so and driven by anything from the small Dared clone that I had to the current SimpleSE (along with several SS options in between). They have functioned flawlessly and sound excellent in this rig, I have never tried them in a larger setting, I simply do not have the space in my house to do so. I purchased them from a friend who I believe was the original owner. They have several hundred hours of use on them in my setup but have always been driven gently, I'm a church mouse and my listening time is late at night when the rest of the house is asleep.

Please note, these are the regular non-SE versions of the speakers. I believe the difference is in the tweeter, although there may be more to it than that. The SE is what is currently listed on the official site here - CBM-170 SE High Performance Bookshelf Loudspeaker. There are a fair number of reviews of the original out there - here's a good example - GoodSound! "Equipment" Archives. There are links to several more reviews on Ascend's site.

Note, white spots on the corners are just flash reflections, the cabinets are in pretty great shape with no obvious signs of use. Don't get me wrong, they have been used and could not pass for new, but with a bit of cleaning they'd come close. MSRP was $328/pr plus shipping, the last pair of SE's sold on Audiogon in one day for $190 shipped, I'd like to get $150 + shipping and I believe that I have the original box in storage, not sure I ever had the manual. I'll also entertain local pickup (south east NH) or do what I can to meet someone within a reasonable distance. My schedule is pretty hectic these days though.

Email with any questions, I have flawless feedback on Ebay and can link to other audio related websites w/ feedback.

Nate
