Geek said:Do you have Acklands-Grainger in the USA? A box of 100 is ~$4.
Cheers!
No, no Acklands-Grainger around here. Are they brass or steel?
The price to beat is $45.10 per 100 brass screws from McMaster-Carr, which seems a bit high to me. Sometimes, I really wish the metric system applied in this country.......

We do have Grainger in the USA, www.grainger.com
Here is the page for M5 brass machine screws, but it does not look too promising

Have you tried an electrical supply shop, like one that sells romex etc to wiring contractors? I imagine they will have lots of #6/#8 brass pan heads but maybe not metric.
You might try this place, I believe they'll ship you what ever you need, and they have a large selection. Unfortunately they don't have an online catalog so you'll have to call them and tell them what you need, but they're usually cheaper than McMaster.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I am still looking though.
Grainger.com has the screws, but the price is nearly double that of McMaster-Carr. I called Mr. Metric, but they did not have them in brass.
Geek, I will be eagarly awaiting your quote. I do have to say that these links are all very useful, and I have them bookmarked for future use on various odd parts. Thanks!
