Hi all,
I need to liquidate some of my stereo gear and need to sell my DIY LM3886 triple monoblock amp. All amp chips and transformers are in one enclosure. The enclosure is a prebuilt unit with a custom 1/8th inch solid aluminum faceplate. The power switch is on the front left and one blue LED to indicate power in the middle. The transformers are Avel-Lindberg and were purchased from Apex jr. The specs are: Input: 2 X 120Vac 50-60 Hz 3 3/4" Dia X 1 1/2" Tall Output: 2 X 28.4V @ 2.67Amps over 150Va All three transformers have their own PS boards as well as 2amp slow blow fuses. The PS boards and the amp boards were purchased from Brian GT at chipamp.com. I originally purchased a dual monoblock kit and then a friend gave me a single monoblock kit he had kickin'around so I thought I would use all three in one enclosure. Each LM3886 amp chip is cooled by a solid aluminum Pentium 4 cpu cooler. I have found that it works quite well. Speaker connections are dual binding posts red and black. I have also used 1\8th inch steel plate to sectioned off each amp from each other and to keep the PS board and transformer isolated from the amp chips. The top cover of the enclosure has slotted vents near the back to dissipate any heat. Rubber grommets are used where wires are feed through. This triple monoblock LM3886 produces 68w per channel into 8ohms. This amp can produce very loud volumes quite easy. I've never had an issue getting any kind of volume from this amp. Now I've never owned any high end amps before, but compared to the amps that come with AV receivers these days, this amp kicks butt!! All you need to do is go to the chipamps section and read the postings. I would really like to get back what I put into it. I'm not looking to make any prophet. This amp really needs a good home. ![]() $300.00cdn OBO plus shipping. Thanks for looking, Chevy |
