Hi,
Selling my Adcom GDA-700 DAC. Originally $1000 new. Looks and works perfectly. Great sounding DAC. Very dynamic and analog sounding. 20 bit dual decoders/HDCD decoding . Was used in a second system. No longer needed. Some very light scratches on top. Not noticeable unless your looking closely. $200.00 + shipping. No lowballers please. Thanks, mg16 |

I used to own one of these DAC's. It sounds fantastic and uses BB1702 Dacs. It is very easy to mod. I miss having HDCD and wish I did not sell mine.

Hi,
Its actually the second one I have owned. I had one for several years throughout the 90's. Bought new for $1000. I sold it for a much more expensive and well reviewed dac. About 2 years ago, I missed the clarity and dynamics of the adcom, and bought this one for $400 on Audiogon. Got 3 dacs, and am gonna let it go again. mg16 |

What kind of mod do you suggest? Sorry the OT, mg16.

The output is a series of op-amps with the part numbers cleaned off. I suspect they are ne5532's. It responds to upgrades to caps in the signal path and tinkering with different types of op-amps to suit to taste. There's lots of room inside the chassis and the PCB is large and well laid out. There is also enough space to add a Pass D-1 style I/V.
