Default Pioneer/TAD PT-R9

Hi all. Does anyone out there have one of these Pioneer/TAD beryllium ribbon tweeters with a blown diaphragm they would like to sell, or a working unit that needs a perfectly working match, or a replacement diaphragm they would like to sell? I have a perfectly functioning unit I would like to trade if anyone is interested, and I have a blown unit I would like to get a mate for and experiment with different ribbon materials.
Thanks!

I guess ,you're the one who bought them on recent E-pay auction. Did you have a chance to listen and compare the one you have to other ribbons?
I acquired recently used TAD ET-703 horn tweeter and it must be the nicest sounding tweeter I heard to date. Good luck finding diaphragm. Regards, L

I have been playing with a very fine copper foil ribbon that sounds terrific. I'll be doing some comparisons soon.

Hi, new member here.

I have a beryllium ribbon tweeter from a pair of Pioneer DSS-9's I would like trying to repair also. I thought about using some brass shim stock from work but I wasn't sure if it would work. I'm sure copper would probably work better.

What thickness did you find worked the best? I found a place on ebay that sells sells 6" x 6" sample rolls of 1 mil, 1.4 mil 2 mil, 3 mil, 5 mil, 8 mil, and 10 mil sheets of copper.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dennis

I tried the copper foil 1 mil, and it is too thick. I would suggest either the copper foil from a Jensen Copper foil/paper in oil capacitor, or the aluminum foil sold as:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320342769830

It's amazing how thin they make this foil. quite a bit thinner than 1 mil (I was surprised).
