You know what they are. You know you want them. I was going to use these for midbass duty but my plans have changed, once again. Madisound sells them for $450+shipping. BNIB, never mounted, never powered $355 + shipping!. Time to break out those microsoft cashback dollars fellas.

Well I was going to build the Zaph Revelator 2.5 and he said buy them from Madisound becuase they match them for the set... I think he meant the tweeter but I think I want to buy the whole set from them, just to make sure everything is right.

i probably wouldn't worry about that with the 18w's, scanspeak QC is great.

You're right, the Revelators (woofers and tweeters) are made in small productions runs, and then packaged as matched in pairs. So unless they were samples, or custom parts they should match pretty well.
But if I were making 2.5 ways I would try to buy all 4 woofers from the same production run. When Madisound gets a shipment it's very likely the drivers are all from the same production run and more likely to match from set to set. But then again I'm more OCD than most, and probably couldn't hear a difference. I'd just feel better knowing that I didn't cut any corners when spending a lot of time and money in building my speakers. -Olen |
