Dear all,
My friend have given me a Philips CD100 that has been dead for a long time (no LED display, not playing disc). After searching the forum and other online resources for service manual, I could confirm that the laser is working, but the MPU (MAB8440) on the servo board was dead. I think the only way to resurrect this beauty is to get a programmed MAB8440 from another dead CD100. Others like the CD104 wouldn't do as the stored program should be the different due to different use of the MPU's IO port. So anyone has a non-functional CD100 (dead laser perhaps) that could be sold as parts? I am interested mainly on the MPU, but could buy the whole set of circuit boards or the whole thing if I must. It is a pity to have a working CDM0 but a non-functional player ![]() Best Regards, Edward Tam |

Dear all,
I am sorry, I forgot to update my email address in diyAudio So if anyone has sent me email, please kindly resend it ![]() Anyway, I am still sweeping over the dead CD100 I suspect one can use the pair of TDA1540s to make a 14bit DAC Best Regards, Edward Tam |
