It's been a while since I got myself interested in tubes and amps, the main reason: money. I've got the transformers of a Fisher X100, wich is a stereo amplifier. It was powered by 4 EL84, 2 in push pull configuration for each channel, and of course, 2 OT and I'm guessing they are rated at 18 watts minimum. The power transformer is HUGE!. It has 5v and 6.3 filament supply, the primary is for 117 volts and the secondary outputs 370-380 volts without load.
I made some measurements with loudspeaker lab, including impedance, of the output transformers and they respond pretty well from 20Hz to 15kHz @ -3dB. The output transformers have multiple secondary to match different loads 4, 8 and 16 ohms, wich will make it easier to couple with different power tubes like 6v6, EL84 and 6L6.
I'm not trying to sell this things but to trade them. Because I'm planning to build a single ended guitar amplifier (maybe a ax84 P1X) I'll trade for an output transformer and power transformer that fit the needs of such amp. According to that design I'll be needing and equivalent to a Hammond 125ESE (15 watts) for output and a 270DX(275-0-275v @ 90mA and 6.3v @ 2A) for power.
However, if no one is willing or have the transformers to trade, I can sell them, so I'm listening.
Thanks in advance for your attention.
I have a big set of single-ended transformers and a matching power transformer.
The outputs are triode-only (no ultra-linear taps) 4.5k. They come off a 300B amplifier.
The brand is C.A.V.... don't know much about them, but they are BIIIIIG.
Well, I'll may need a little more info about them, maybe the schematic or the model of the amp you them from?. Just to know if they fix my needs. As for the ultralinear tap, I'm not interested in it, because I'm building a guitar amp, not a Hi-Fi amp, so it shoul work fine. I'm more concerned about the power transformer output voltages and the impedance ratio of the OT (but that can be 'asumed' from the output tube a 300B).
I'm in Cartagena-Colombia, so we can accord what would be the best method for sending you the set of transformers and you sending me yours.
Let me know if you have any more info about your set of transformers or if you need more info about mine's!
