I hope I'm not breaking any rules doing this but, I decided to post this here on diyaudio.com in case someone was looking for a pair of cheap 8in drivers for a first attempt at a diy full range speaker project!
On eBay this auction is for a matched pair of two NOS eight inch MTX Oaktron speakers whose specs are: 8 ohms, 40 watt rms/100 watt peak, 1"aluminum former voice coils, 12 ounce strontium magnets, 55hz to 15,000hz freq. response, triple pleated treated cloth accordian edge surrounds with a curved linear pressed steel baskets. They require a 7" mount cutout hole with a 3" mount depth & weigh 2.5 lbs each unboxed. I should be crystal clear in that I'm in no way associated wth the seller of these drivers and I have absolutely no idea what these drivers sound like and that to these "untrained" eyes the magnets look a tad small ---{perhaps someone who eithers knows how they sound or whether the magent is small can comment}--- however that being said, I cannot imagine them not being worth at least the $20 for the pair the seller is asking for them! If anyone's interested they can check them out here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320280297888 Thetubeguy1954
