Default NOS Siemens MKV high-voltage PP in Oel caps for sale

Hi folks,

I have NOS Siemens MKV caps for sale. There are still individually packed in plastic bags.
This are highest quality PP (Polypropylen) in oil caps (NOT to mix up with that paper in oil stuff You can find in old tube gear!). Due to their very high AC voltage rating they are excellently suited for tube amp applications either as signal-coupling or power-supply decoupling caps but should be equally good in SS gear or speaker crossovers.

There are rumours about this kind of parts having outstanding sonic qualities.
Search this board for posts (not from me!) about MKV caps (they are talking about axial leaded series B25839 there). Mine are series B25834 with radial connectors and mounting bolts. From what the specs say, B25834 are higher voltage rated and are otherwiese the same (but more expensive).
I myself cannot comment about the sonics as I still do not have a suitable setup for doing really fair and valuable sound comparisons. Moreover, as judgement about sound always is a very subjective thing (at least in this category), as seller of this parts I better not claim something what another might think is not true and so I better stay out of this.

All I can say is that I have sold some caps already, also to a few members of this forum and others (I have offered them already quite a while ago ).
I got one feedback from somebody (member of this forum if my memory serves me well) that said he tried the caps in speaker crossovers in comparison to his Tin-Foil MKP`s (Mundorf). He said that they performed "essentially better!: more authentic dimensional reproduction, sound coming much easier "off" the speakers".
Regarding that tin-foil caps are considered among the best audio caps, that`s not bad IMHO.

I also did some measurements with a Stanford Research SR715 LCR Digibridge (compensated Kelvin wire leads). For better comparison I picked a 1F MKV <b>6.)</b> from the list below and measured it against a Mundorf 1F KP-SN 250V (Tin-Foil-MKP) I had that value at hand.
result for the 1F MKV:
The dissipation factor @ 1kHz is 0,00019
The dissipation factor @ 10kHz is 0,00096
result for the 1F KP-SN:
The dissipation factor @ 1kHz is 0,00014
The dissipation factor @ 10kHz is 0,00021

As said above this caps are NOS but the parts marked with: <b>(*...stars)</b> - may have more or less dents due to storage.
The bigger and therefore heavier parts have more and "bigger" dents
(I could also try to make some more detailled pictures if required).
In detail this means:
<b>(***)</b> = all have quite some dents
<b>(**)</b> = most of them have dents
<b>(*) </b> = some of them have some dents
I do not believe that the dents have influence on the performance.
I have measured the one with the "worst" dents I could find and measured it against one nearly without and I can not see any difference.

From the 4,7F cap <b>3.)</b> I have only two pieces. If there is some reasonable request
on this type (>20) of caps I might be able to get hold of more of them but I`m not sure.
The 4,7F`s would be without any dents.

The dimensions (D= diameter; L=length) are taken including the connectors but without the
mounting bolt. Dimensions are only approximately.
For more details I can send datasheets of the Series B25834 (PDF:650kB). Just ask me
(I have also datasheets for the B25835 & B25839 series if somebody is interested for reference).
The numbers in brackets behind the dimensions represent the manufactorer data code.
Example: (03/99) means they are manufactored in March 1999.
Nuts for mounting and locking springs are included.

The prices in the listing above not in brackets are the regular retail prices per piece in Euros which You can find at this site:
http://www.buerklin.com
(search for MKV from the main site and please note that the prices given there are without 16% VAT!)
The price in brackets behind that is what I ask for per piece. The parts marked with any <b>(**)`s </b>are cheaper because of the dents. So my asking price is about 1/3 of the normal retail or less for the parts with dents.

I ship worldwide at actual shipping costs.
I can accept Paypal (credit-card payments also) in Euros (new Paypal feature makes this possible for any PP-user) as long You pay the fees I have for receiving payments (about 4% of the total).

The picture below shows the parts offered from the list:
upper row - beginning from left <b>1.)(***)</b> to right <b>3.)</b>
lower row - beginning from left <b>4.)(*)</b> to right <b>7.)</b>

Default update of ongoing of sales:

I`ll update the MKV sales thread periodically in order that people know what is gone already and what is still avaible.

The following pieces are gone to a well known member of this forum:

<b>3.)</b> 2pcs. 4,7F
<b>4.)</b> 8pcs. 3,3F
<b>5.)</b> 8pcs. 1,5F
<b>6.)</b> 8pcs. 1F

So the 4,7F type is not avaible anymore as I only had two of them. But as I said in the previous post, if there is a reasonable minimum request of something about >20pcs, I would try to hunt up some more.
I would therefore suggest that if You want to have some, just post in this thread the amount You would like to have (without obligation) in order that others (and me too) can see how things going on.

Petter,

I hope You read this.
Short time after replying to Your hotmail-email-acount directly (not through this board as You`ve disabled this function) I`ve got a spam email.
That`s the very first spam email ever I got on this account and therefore highly suspect this has something to do with the email Ive send You.
When You send me an email please send it through diy-Audio.com (my email here is enabled) and please also enable Yours to receive emails through this board in order I can answer You without having to send directly to Your hotmail-address again - Im not keen having this email account flooded with spam also.
Thank You!

MKV sales update follows

Default latest Siemens MKV sales updates

Many caps are gone and on their way out in various parts of the world.
Others will probably (hopefully) be shipped out this week.

The following caps are still left for sale (found a few more in my parts mess ) :

<b>1.)(*)</b>
1x Siemens MKV 6,8F B25834-K6685-K009
Un=900V/Ueff=640V D:50mmxL:100mm (11/98)
Euros 26,80 (Euros 5,00)

<b>3.)</b>
1x Epcos MKV 4,7F B25834-F5475-K001
Un=AC-750V/Ui=AC-670V D:35mmxL:94mm (09/98)
Euros 16,30 (Euros 4,00,)
without mounting screw!

<b>4.)(*)</b>
3x Siemens MKV 3,3F B25834-F6335-K001
Un=AC-900V/Ui=AC-780V D:35mmxL:94mm (01/99)
Euros 15,70 (Euros 4,00, )
one without mounting screw!

<b>5.)</b>
14x Siemens MKV 1,5F B25834-F6155-K001
Un=AC-900V/Ui=AC-780V D:35mmxL:62mm (03/99)
Euros 14,40 (Euros 4,50)

<b>6.)</b>
4x Siemens MKV 1F B25834-B4105-K001
Un=600V/Ueff=420V D:25mmxL:64mm (03/99)
Euros 11,60 (Euros 4,00)

<b>7.)</b>
39x Siemens MKV 0,47F B25834-B6474-M001
Un=900V/Ueff=640V D:25mmxL:64mm (07/98)
Euros 10,80 (Euros 3,50)

here some international shipping rates from Germany:

small parcel (up to 2kg):
Europe: Euro 8,20
World: Euro 12,30

parcel (up to 5kg / 5-10kg) :
EU: 16,50 / 20,50 (Euros)
rest Europe: 25,00 / 35,00 (Euros)
World (USA/Canada etc.): 29,00 / 39,00 (Euros)
rest World: 35,00 / 50,00 (Euros)

Due to the smaller diameter, small amounts (<500gr.) of the 0,47F types might be shipped somewhat cheaper than the "small-parcel" rate but with 50mm package height restriction (therefore maybe higher risk in shipping damage).

Got mine in the mail too, thanks! I was positively surprised about the sizes which were smaller than I had thought.
