Fairchild produces the KSD526 which cross references for the 2SC830

thanks for your reply zlast. the KSD526 and 2SC830 are indeed electrically similar. however, the KSD526 is a TO-220 transistor, while the 2SC830 is a TO-3 ... so, unfortunately, not a substitute.
