Another great book from the McGraw-Hill Electrical and Electronic Engineering Series - requires a little more math. $10

Irving Gottlieb, Regulated Power Supplies, Howard W. Sams 1971
A good little primer for learning the basics of regulated power supply design. Gottlieb isn't going to win any beauty contests, however. $3

Cookbook of voltage regulator cicuits using ICs. Lots of good construction tips. $5

William Boyce, Hi-Fi Stereo Handbook, Howard W. Sams 1956 - 1974

A weath of information and data for designers. Includes original nomograph straightedge and bookmark. $10

Villanucci, Avtgis, and Megow, Electronic Techniques - Shop Practices and Construction, Prentice-Hall 1974
Everything you need to know about building techniques for amplifiers. Probably the best construction manual out there. Step-by-step instruction on building your own chasses. You can skip the part about applying attractive pressure-sensitive woodgrain vinyl, though. $20

Lou Burroughs, Microphones: Design and Application, Sagamore Publishing 1974
Burroughs was a bigshot at Electro-Voice and this is a very comprehensive book about microphones - everything you need to know and more. $15

Martin Mayer and John Conly, Hi-Fi, Random House 1956
Light reading for the '50s hi-fi buff. Conly was the editor of High Fidelity magazine. $7
