Made this just to get a feel of soldering a little better, plus a temp amp for my home audio....
http://www.goldmine-elec-products.co...p?number=C6442 Total came out to 44 ish shipped with binding posts and such. I threw it in a wine bottle box and added connections to the rear. Don't expect amazing craftsmanship...but fair...The wire used is cheap...etc... But it works well and sounds descent! Roll off is in the 40hz range so its best to use it for computer speakers. Rated at 22rms @ 4 ohms with 1% THD. So maybe like 8rms at 8 ohms and 15rms at 4 with acceptable distortion. Its great for small rooms or easy listening. You will need a power adapter. Rated at 12-18 VDC with ~3-4A of current draw (yes its a pig). It designed as a car booster amp hence the DC input. Some pics...Mounted vertically, Yes the heatsinks are different, Wire hanging out is for power (Copper + Silver - for reference) ![]() Closed, yes picture of a wine bottle taped on ![]() Back, I know RCAs are backwards. Colors are right though... ![]() Random Holes, There was two on the box, so I drilled some more for kicks because it would annoy the **** out of me, not to mention heat vents (though it doesn't really get that hot...) ![]() Pictures are from a phone, so it makes the enclosure look horrible, but it reality it doesn't look that bad... Lets go for 60 + shipping For now. Thanks! |
