I bought this stuff about a year ago planning on building and replacing my big old Odyssey amps, but once I had completed my USB DAC project I was so satisfied with everything that I basically put away the solder gear and never pulled it out again.
So before this stuff becomes obsolete, I'm selling factory new kit parts at discount, and some parts are better than new as I cryo treated all connectors and parts in the power supply, power wires, etc - I even have the full batch of cryo-treated wires and materials to make all cryo Venhaus starquad powercords for the monoblocks that come with the bundle. The materials for those power cords alone were well over $200 I'll take an inventory of what exactly I have and will post it here with photos. just from memory, this is the core of the kit: 2x UCD 700AD modules 2x UCD 700 supply 2x softstart module 2x Avel transformer cryo treated - gotta look up specs, but they are oversized 4x smaller transformers for the other voltages, cryo treated 2x aluminum chassis I had shipped from a place in Thailand - will look up URL (I actually have 4 of these cases - 2 never opened up, 2 are prepped with MDF to strengthen them for the heavy components. 2x custom heat sinks for the modules/rear of chassis 2x IEC module, cryo treated 2x balanced Neutrik chassis jacks 2x cryo-treated custom silver shielded 4 conductor wire for making the balanced to non-balanced cables recommended by Hypex 2X WBT nextgen jacks for the other end, cryo, copper version I think - have to double check on that 2 lenths of 10 feet of 4-conductor Venhaus cryo power cable 2 Marinco power plugs, crype treated 2 sets of rubber hose for the cords 2 lenths of cryo treated solid ground wire for the power cords 2 sets of all the shrink wrap and white techflex for the making of the cords (I could build the power cords for you - that stuff doesn't take very long) I think I also have the Hypex input cable in the box - have to double check that. Probably some other odds and ends. Looking to get $1350 for the whole lot. Except for the chassis strengthening and some opening up of parts bags to ship to Cryo, all this stuff is factory new, never saw a soldering iron. anyway - more to follow - here is a picture of the base parts for one mono block taken last April: http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp..._monoblock.jpg open to negotiation of breaking this up, but I'd rather sell it complete, or at least the amp kit and the power cords and chassis as bundles. I am not breaking up the amp kits/transformers. There's over $1900 in this collection of parts. I don't really want to know how much I spent there... pm or email me if interested. I should get notified if you post to this thread as well. Not sure how soon I can get pix but I'll speed that up if somebody is interested. Peter |

Peter, I think you should build up this monster of an amp. I doubt you'd be disappointed with the outcome.

I don't doubt the outcome - wouldn't have bought all that stuff if I did - but I barely listen to my system as it is, am quite happy with it when I do, and I could use the money for something else that's much more important to me right now.

Fair enough. If I had the funds and was closer to you I wouldn't mind taking that stuff off your hands! Out of curiosity, do you have any photos of the aluminum chassis?

working on the photos - should have some online by Monday. I bought those from this place
http://www.atiresearch-anodized.com/ and if I am not mistaken they are this model http://www.atiresearch-anodized.com/ATI-737U.html all brushed aluminum on mine, not black, just the back panel. they are not super sturdy, and it's a tight fit for all the stuff that needs to go into each monoblock, but I did my measuring and it will all fit in with the UCD module mounted against the rear of the case and extra heat sinking on the outside of that same area on the rear. Probably gonna spend more time putting this physically together than to worry about how to wire it up. Peter |

ok - photos and some corrections/updates. Again, these parts are completely new, never been put together. I took them out of their boxes to cryo treat some of the small parts such as the faston connectors and fuses.
Some of the smaller parts are actually available in quantity 4 as I planned on building a second set of these for biamping. I'll indicate quantity on the stuff available below. I want to sell as much of this in a single bundle, so anyone who wants the main dual mono UCD module kit gets priority on the rest of the parts. I'll take names for those, but until the main batch sells, I want to hold the small parts. Core dual mono UCD 700AD kit: 2x UCD 700AD modules ($325 ea. new) 2x UCD 700 supply ($285 ea. new) 2x UCD softstart module ($75 ea. new) 2x Avel 800VA Y236905 (cryo treated for a week) ($90 ea. w/o cryo) 2x toroid Amveco 62063 15VAC@1.664A ($25 ea. new) 2x toroid Amveco 62062 12VAC@2.082A ($27 ea. new) total cost new today: $1504 yours for $1100 pix: http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...52_UCD_top.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...UCD_bottom.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...pix/54_psu.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...PSU_bottom.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp..._softstart.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp.../45_toroid.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...oids_label.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...ll_toroids.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...mall_parts.jpg other parts needed for the build, but available separately because you may have different plans: 2x custom heat sinks for the modules/rear of chassis - yours for $25 (IEC plug on pic for size comparison) http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...heat_sinks.jpg 2x IEC module with power switch and fuse holder, cryo treated $6 http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp..._alternate.jpg 4x IEC modules + 4x fuse holders, both lots cryo treated $10 http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...0_IEC_fuse.jpg 4x balanced Neutrik chassis jacks (on two shown on picture, all were in a cryo tank for a week) $4 each. http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...8_xlr_jack.jpg 25 feet (have to double check) cryo-treated Belden 89207 twinaxial wire for making the balanced to non-balanced cables recommended by Hypex - US $40 takes it all (price pending measure of cable length) http://www.takefiveaudio.com/mall/shopexd.asp?id=345 http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...yo_ic_wire.jpg 8 WBT "clone" speaker terminals (4 red, 4 black), deep cryo treated. Only available as a batch $40 http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...wbt_clones.jpg Venhaus Type IV power cord materials (If you want the power cords built, I can do that for $50 more). I think there's enough wireleft for two 8 foot runs. Gotta measure to make sure - price would be about the same, though. 2 lenths of 8(?) feet of 4-conductor Venhaus cryo power cable 2 Marinco wall plugs, cryo treated 2 Marinco IEC plugs 2 sets of rubber hose for building the cords 2 lenths of cryo treated solid ground wire for the power cords 2 sets of all the shrink wrap and white techflex for the making of the cords. Also have som black techflex, but probably not enough for full length. The whole batch of parts for $175, or as two built cords for $225 pix: http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...haus_wires.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...8_techflex.jpg The two new chassis I had are already sold - I still have those that were prepped for the build of the UCD monoblocks (strenthended base and top surfaces for the weight of the toroid - these are only 1.5mm thin without the mdf. The MDF on those surfaces was glued in with construction adhesive and won't go anywhere. Dinky plastic feet are removed (I'd recommend some serious cones or roller bearings to support these) but included in a bag. Since I already messed with these plus because there's one screw on the bottom that doesn't line up (made in Thailand!) as well a tiny tiny mark on the edge of one face plates, I will let those go for $75 as a pair, or $40 each. inside modifications: http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...sis_modded.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...hassis_mdf.jpg put back together: http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...sis_single.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...is_stacked.jpg http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp..._for_scale.jpg the two factory new chassis that already sold: http://didnt.doit.wisc.edu/audio/amp...actory_new.jpg whoever takes the UCD bundle will get additional discounts on whatever else is picked to go with the batch. Let's talk. Shipping on all this is extra - big stuff goes FedEx ground, small stuff priority mail. Peter |

sorry, looks like the used chassis are gone, too.
The amp and power cord goodies are all still available. I'll be out of town next week starting Tuesday for 5 days, so if you respond in early August, please be patient. Where I'm going, there's no Internet. Peter |
