And, if you're lazy like me you can go to Tech-DIY. Where, this morning, a pair (2) of matched IRFP9610 were $4.40; three (3) matched IRFP9610 were $6.90 and four (4) matched IRFP9610 were $9.70 (all in US dollars).

I got 10 IRFP240 & 6 IRFP9240 all matched within 0.1%.

Postage to Melbourne was a flat-rate $12.

I've matched transistors before so I know.

even if I buy say 20, there's no guarantee I can get a matched. how many pieces would it take to get a matched pair? 20? 30? it may get more expensive in the end.

buying matched pair is a shortcut and it may end up cheaper :)
