Hi.
Im getting a JBL W12GTI mk2, and i wonder if anyone have tried to use this as a basswoofer in a home setup? Best regards Tim |

BTW: thinking about using up to about 200Hz. is this possible ?

Hello Tim,
Are you getting 1 or 2 of these woofers? In a mono sub setup you don't want to go higher the about 40-50Hz. Above that you start hearing where the sound is coming from and you will lose your stereo image. Is this for home or car? This woofer has a lot of displacement (4.23Liters) so it should make a very nice deep sub. The manual says that it can be used in an IB as long as you limit the power. This is always the case in that without an enclosure the woofer doesn't need as much power to fight the box pressure. Looks like you are on your way to some great bass |

Thanks for replying. im getting 1 now, migt get another later. Gonna use a PA amp with built in DSP to drive it som i can experiment with different cutoff frequenzy. As stated this is for home use.
