Dayton 295-190 15" DVC

Folks,

I'm a bit of a newbie at this so bear with me. I have a 15" Dayton DVC driver coming and I have a 250 watt plate amp that is currently being used in a small 1 cu ft 10" sub (10" titanic kit from Parts Express). My wife got me the 15" DVC for my birthday. So.....my plan is to use the plate amp with the 15" in an enclosure that dimensionally works out to be between 4-5 cubic feet. I've modelled it in some of the "free over the internet" software but as I said I'm a newbie. My goals are mostly stem around achieving as much output as possible (my current 10" is struggling in our new larger home theater room). If I have to give up the absolute bottom end to achieve more between 30hz on up that is OK. My wood working skills exceed my sub knowledge so I can build whatever with a little help from the brains here. Any suggestions on an enclosure sealed, vented or otherwise?

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

The Dayton 15" DVC is very similar to the old Adire Audio Tempest (Tempest white paper can be found at Adire's website, here: http://www.adireaudio.com/Files/TempestWhitePaper.pdf ). Several box alignments, sealed ported, and vented, were described with box plans and expected response curves by Adire, and can still be found here: http://www.acoustic-visions.com/~acoustic/products/subwoofer_drivers/tempest_classic/

Adire has a new line of Tempest drivers. What you are concerned with is the "Tempest Classic", which is a re-release version of the original Tempest, which shares similar specifications with the Dayton 15" DVC.

Hope this helps.
