The PE BASH500 amp is currently on sale for $159 US (although they don't currently have any in stock). As far as plate amps go, does anyone have any good or bad feedback on it?

I use the 300 watt version with a 122 litre sealed tempest, and I have no complaints. For the price, they seem to be excellent plate amps.

I have no complaints with mine except the weight. They don't weigh enough to push out that kind of power.
I have 300w and 1000w.

Thankls Cal. I have read that the amp has a 30 Hz high pass filter as well as a 3dB bass boost, but that it can be modded by changing some of the resistors. Whats the deal putting a 30 high pass on a sub amp? Or is this all false?

The ones I have are prototypes before they went to market. They have a bass optimization circuit that has a bypass switch.
When you buy a new one, they give you a chart of the resistors to change if you wish to tailor the boost. I am not familiar with a 30Hz highpass. Perhaps somone else is in the know. |

I heard this on another forum as well. Makes no sense to me...

The PE bash amp does indeed have a 3db boost and a 30 highpass filter. There are two resisters that you can change to put the boost and highpass at whatever you like. Great amps at their current sale price.

Chris from Partsexpress responded to my enquiry about the bandpass filter. He indicated that it is at 20Hz, not 30Hz

I just recently bought another PE bash amp over the holidays and noticed the new amp was a little different. They may have changed the resisters to something more appropriate for the amps usage, but the older ones did indeed have the 30hz filter. Ill take a look at the new amp to see if they did change the resister values. Either way its an easy change.
