i was planning on building a sonotube with a 15" adire tempist but ended up winning a 12" cs 25-31 svs on ebay earlier today. It's however an unpowered sub. I am trying to decide what kind of amp I should use to run it? I am thinking budget here, and was thinking getting a bash 300w or possibly the PE 240w plate amp and then just building a simple box for it and setting it next to the subwoofer. The amp is rated at 350w at 4 ohm's so I was thinking either of those amps would give me plenty of volume.
thoughts? |

also,
I still have the 10" jbl subwoofer, can I use the two together? Or would it be better to just put the JBL back on ebay? It's a nice sub and great for a smaller room, however for the larger area it simply doesn't have the pound. |

Each sub should have its own amplifier and have the volume set independently. If you are happy with the SQ of the JBL and don't feel it is holding the other back, then there's no reason why not use it as well. Different locations may give a better room response.
Rythmik plate amps are well regarded by many. They also have very flexible bass extension filters to get the right response at the bottom end. I'd consider them also.
