Default is this a correct subwoofer box?

okay,

please tell me if this is a correct subwoofer / enclousure / amp setup.

I am looking at doing this for an LFE channel in a home theatre.

I will be using a Dayton 285-190 15" subwoofer along with a bash 500W amp.

I am hoping to build a down firing box with a total inside volume of 275 liters. It will be a vented style with 4 2" port tubes on the front pointing towards the viewing audience.

If i used the WinISD correctly, it gives me a sensitivity of 91db@1w@1m. does that sound correct? is this a feasible sub? Being that it is going into an opened cove in my basement, it will not be against any walls, probably about 3 feet from the back wall, and have a left and right channel about 2 feet from either edge of it.

The center channel will be about 18" above the top of the subwoofer as well.

will this work for sound imaging?

A smaller number of larger ports will work much better. Those 2inchers will be noisy as all get out....

Have a look at how a pair of 4 inch ports model. If you use WinISD pro, you can look at the port velocity vs frequency graph.

For 4 inch ports with velocities above 6 m/sec you will need flares. The PSP Precision ports are good for about 14 to 16 m/sec.

so looking at the adire tempist 15" sub I am thinking about doing a sonotube. It says I would need 2 4" tubes, the port length would be 16" does that sound right?

if I wanted to do a sonotube, what size sonotube would everybody recommend?
