Hi everyone--
I just got a 500W BASH plate amp from Parts Express (#300-752), and the bottom of the spec sheet that came with it says: "Note: Do not attempt to connect amplifier to test equipment. Doing so my result in a hazardous situation." This warning isn't on the PDF version that's on PE's website. Is this just a standard CYA type warning, or is it because the output is bridged, and the "-" speaker lead is not a ground-referenced signal? I did measure a ~1V DC voltage between the "-" and the shell of the RCA inputs. I'd like to do some testing and experimenting with it and Speaker Workshop, but I don't want to blow up my soundcard. Any suggestions for the best way to do what I want to do? Thanks-- Greg |

At least chances are big that the "Bridged Amplifier Switching Hybrid" is actually a bridge topology.
