I bought two cheap 12" GAS Alpha car drivers, Qts=0.81, fs=22
vas = 4 cubicfoot, oneway xmax=9mm for testing in a U-baffle. They are each driven by a active 12db 100 hz lp filter (TDA 7492) The U-baffle is very rigid, made of 28mm solid beech from Ikea! They sound very nice in the lower end, but around 50-70 hertz they sound just horrible. Its not the magnet vent or voice coil leads, it seems to emanate from the cone. Any Ideas? |

I removed the dustcap, very easy, and glued back with silicone.
Problem gone! Only half the dustcap perimeter was glued at factory. Thanks! |
