Default Enclosure Volume

Hey,

I'm designing a 6.1 speaker set for my AS product design course but i need a little help.

Apparently, ported sub enclosures need to be the right volume, with the right length and diameter port. Is this true? If so, how do you calculate the sizes?

Thanks

Mat

There are many ways to do this. There are softwares, such as winisd that can calculate it for you. You need to do some reading, spend a little time poking through this forum to get the 'basics'. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply.

I've downloaded the software, had a play and I think I understand it.

I have another question. Where, in britan, can i get speakers? The only place I can find is maplins and their range isnt that special.

Thanks again.
