Suggestions for Subwoofers

I'm trying to find a sub that would match well with a Seas W18NX. The mids will be in .32 cu ft sealed enclosures with their F3 right at 80 hz. I'm looking for a sub to fill out the low end while reaching high enough to meet the mids. I'm looking for something that costs under $175 (I need two), but cheaper is better. It can be any size within reason, but I'd like to keep the enclosure at maybe 3 cu ft max, sealed or vented. I was thinking Dayton Reference or Peerless XXLS, but I'm open to any suggestions that fit my criteria and mate well with the Seas (I'm using Aurum Cantus G3Sis for the top end).

the hi fi dayton ref sub should go high enough to meet those(may want to get a second opinion on this)

but i would do it, id also power each with a 100 watt plate amp(this is for music right?), then you can put them in a box the same width as your speakers, and just make it tall and deep, itll look sweet, and give you free stands!

Or possibly you could LTthem with more power, or maybe with a 15" pr on the opposite side? the options are endless!

but both drivers are pretty low distortion, and from what i remmeber of the XLS' fr graph, its useable at 80hz no prob.

these are jsut some ideas, i know that the peerless drivers work VERY well in small well braced boxes with a PR.

Thanks for the opinion.

Solen has a sale on the car version of the XLS 12s (for $125 vs. $205 normal). It has a low impedance, but I guess that would be worked around. Has anyone heard these drivers? I don't want a compromised solution to this.

I'm also thinking about the Hi-vi D10.8 which is an 11" Dynaudio clone. It plays pretty low smoothly.

I could also maybe spend a little more on $200ish Scanspeak subs, but since I need 2 that really builds up the price.

I appreciate any advice.

Well, I have the Ascendant Audio Assassin 12" driver and I really like how it sounds. It's really clear and defined. I've never run it above 100 Hz however, so if your low-mids that need to be covered are above this, I don't know how well it will work.

The driver is only $90 after shipping so you could afford to get a couple drivers if you want to, and I've heard they compare very well with the Dayton drivers.

Only major difference is the higher Le value which might not work for you if you need them to run too high in frequency.

That is an interesting suggestion. I have SEAS W18NX mids which will handle to about 80hz in a sealed box, so upper frequency extension won't be an issue. I could double up on these for the same price, so it is definitely tempting. Thanks.
