I'm building a pair of "Cyburg Needles" and remembered that I have an 8"MCM 55-2421 in the closet.
I was thinking of a 1' cube. Has anyone built this sub in a small enclosure? Are you happy with it? What it the lowest it should be tuned? How long and what size for the port ? Please make any suggestions or comments. thanks

There are some past threads on this. I built a 1 cu ft enclosure tuned to 30ish hertz with a passive radiator. You likely can't go much larger or the efficiency gets too low. Even at this size you'll have some problems if you need to cross over higher than 60hz. If you're searching, look for some measured T/S parameters. MCM's aren't accurate. These little buggers are tons of fun.

Thanks,Paul
I did look at the other posts and found the correct specs. I was interested in how it turned out for others and the box and port measurements used. Hoping to copy what has been proven and worked well for others. I've got to work with what I have, so it will have to be just a vented box. Size needs to be close to the 1' cube. Should I still try to tune to 30's? cj.9
