If there's no price limits :
http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=1 Tang Band is a nice idea instead.

There's also the Ascendant Audio Assassin 8. But if there's no budget... Then definitely the JL.

Yeah forgot about that one, you're right needtubes. That one is ahead of the Tang Band and the price is low.

Looks like a good candidate for a transmissionline if I'm correct. |

The MCM is a clone of the Tang Band, and is capable of greater excursion. However, some report that it's suspension weakens over time. MCM's specs are off, too. Search the archives if you are interested. It's similar to the Tang Band but with a higher VAS.
I've used the MCM in a T-Line and a 1 cu ft passive radiator system. It's great for the money either way. Due to the lower VAS, the Tang Band will work in a smaller vented box. If you've got the extra $15, the TB is probably worth it. |

I have used that MCM 8" and it's a great value. The advertised 16mm xmax is a bit optimistic. I'd say 13mm is the most your getting before distortion skyrockets... But for a $24 driver it's still well worth the money
