Maybe this?

Or this?

Horn-loaded it produces an SPL with 1W like the Tumult with 1000, but you need to be a Russian oligarch to afford it.
This would be somewhere between in Price, also for BR when you use a low voltage for the field coil, but then you sacrifice sensitivity.

My best bids would be either the Monacor SPH-380TC / SPH-450TC, both are with 2x 4Ohm voice coils, which connected in series gives a BL-factor of 25Tm / 32,4Tm respectively and they are rated at 2x 250W / 2x 350 W RMS and have a fs at 21,5 Hz / 20 Hz.
I plan on using a single SPH-380TC for a sub as soon as I can afford one.

Couldn't wait for me to tell you where that place was? Ok, the place that sells (or soon will) the "ultimate" driver (subwoofer, tweeter, you name it) is here: http://www.ologyaudio.com/
More about the products can be found here http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74170 and here http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=67758
This way it's much easier when the inevitable periodic thread about "Ultimate/best >insert tweeter, mid, woofer, etc here<" to just give a single link for them all.
cheers,
AJ
p.s. just kidding about the beer, they may not be old enough to sell it
The same place that has the ultimate tweeter, midrange and woofer also sells the ultimate subwoofers, 15 and 18 inch.
They even have the ultimate car and ultimate beer there too, so bring your credit card and cheque book.

Vapourware?
Vapourware?
Rome wasn't built in a day. Neither are 1kw/99db tweeters or 22mm xmax HE fullrange/midbasses. These things take time to develop. Patience ye of little faith. Patience.

I thought you were implying that these were available to buy. I've also just realised that your talking about the products that Matt is developing.
Sorry my mistake and yes, they do look rather tasty spec wise.
I think the PD2150 would be a killer. Its 21 inch but thats only 3 measly inches from the ones you suggested!
Precision Devices PD2150
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

PD2150
Anybody know how much one of these monsters costs?

But that 3 inches gives a difference of over 40% in Sd.
The 18 inch is 1150cm2, and the 21 inch is 1630cm2. The difference is the conus area of an 11 inch driver!
Grtz, Joris
Why will it not be classed as a sub-bass driver. Its easy to tune a big vented box to 17 hz or so with one or two PD2150. That should be enough bass for almost anyone!PD2150 would be superb but with an Fs=22Hz and q=0.19 I don't think it would ever be classed as a sub-bass speaker driver.
